Avanti PDL II

Picture courtesy of Ugly Bug-Colin from Gateshead

This classic antenna was a real must for the DX enthusiast, with the ability to direct your signal to wherever you wanted it to go!

With the patented dual feed, you could either operate vertically polarised, or horizontally polarised to get the best reception.

The fiberglass spreader arms would support the full wavelength of wire that ran from tip to tip, and formed a diamond shaped loop.

These antennas were the baby brother of the famous Moonraker 4, and mythical Moonraker 6 antennas.

Another picture of a PDL II can be seen here.

If you are trying to locate a manual for one of these fine antennas........look no further!

There is one you can download here!

Thanks to Colin from Gateshead for supplying the picture for us to exhibit here.
