Probably the definitive and most talked about CB antenna of all time!
.
We probably all owned one of these at some stage of our CB life, and these were very easy to VSWR with the tuning whip on the top of the antenna.
.
These common antennas occasionally met their death at the hands of absent minded people who didn't remember to take them off the roof when they went into a low car park!
.
With the power handling capability of some 100 watts, I am told they also met their untimely end at the hands of anyone with a big linear. The solder joint, friends tell me, always seemed to fail at the bottom of the fiberglass tapered whip where it met the 3/8 UNF base. Apparently, a quick dab of solder, and a bit of insulation tape, and you were away again to chat to your friends.
Commonly placed upon a biscuit tin, or an old car wheel in the attic, these antennas gave you your first taste of CB radio fun!!
