Those of you who were fortunate enough to be part of the CB craze in the early 1980's, will no doubt remember some of the Eyeballs that were organised by clubs across the country.
Yes the good old days of bundling into a car with your mates, and going off in convoy to meet your "Good Buddies"
You paid your entrance fee, and then went off in search of your CB Radio friends to give them your Eyeball Card, and to try and pick up that elusive bargain at one of the trade stalls.
The Somerset Wallies held their first CB Eyeball on Saturday September 8th 1990, at the Camerton Village Hall, near Bath. The official advert, taken from issue 25 of the News from the Earwig magazine, can be seen here.
The Mike Delta X-ray 32 Group held their mass Eyeball/Fete at the Bridge Inn, at Horton near Devizes. The advert can be viewed here.
The Cheltenham Eyeball was always well attended, and it was here that I first met Ace Pilot-Ivor. The advert for the Sunday May 7th Eyeball is pictured here for you to see.
