Harvard

Picture courtesy of Door Knob-Eddie from Wootton Bassett

This 40 Channel UK FM CB radio was identical in every way to the AMSTRAD CB 901 and was marketed as a Harvard radio.

All the buttons were in exactly the same place as on the AMSTRAD CB 901, even the roger bleep was the same!

Superb little receiver, but prone to de-sensitising from close by strong signals, this little radio was superb when sited on a hilltop away from other stations.

The Harvard H646 shown here was in fact recycled from the Spinneytronic CB199, sold by Littlewoods group of mail order catalogues. Their returns got revamped into the Harvard H646; thus working better than the Spinneytronic. However, they were a cheap pirate copy of the genuine Amstrad & made in Hong Kong. The REAL Amstrad 900 & 901 was made in Japan by Cybernet - not usunf their usual 134 chassis, but their cheaper - but still excellent PTBM002F chassis.
