The K40 was a base loaded mobile coil made by American Antenna.

It boasted how if it was not better than your existing antenna, it would give you a full money refund.

I used one for a while on a magnetic mount, and it did seem to perform very well.

These had a a unique bayonet type of fixing...a sort of press down and twist style of fixing, but nevertheless it stayed put on my car without once coming off.

Harder to find the original K40 now, but still a very good antenna to this day!
