The name Orange Man came from the lovely brightly coloured overalls he was wearing in the picture above!
John, or Monty to those who know him well, was a regular at all the eyeballs, and he was the one with the sun reflecting off his eyeball badges! He was also involved with several of the other CB groups in the area, and was also an avid fund raiser. He was involved in the sponsored DX in aid of the Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
"Thiiiiiirty Plus" is a famous phrase he uses, as well as; "There you go see" and "1 mile North of Wootton Bassett" to name some more.
Probably the friendliest CB operator you will ever speak to, and if you are fortunate to meet him, you will always remember him!!
Well known for his fondness of the ladies...Monty will go down, I am sure, as one of the legends of CB radio in this area.
