The Sarsen Trail

The picture above shows some of the usual suspects operating the base station for the Sarsen Trail.

On top of the mast is an Imax 2000 antenna, with various other antennas beneath it.

The Sarsen Trail, and Neolithic Marathon, was a Sponsored Walk and Run, to help raise funds for the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust.

Members of local CB radio clubs were asked to provide communication between given points along the route between Avebury, and Stonehenge.

Communication along this route was vital for checking walkers, and runners through checkpoints, and also in case of emergency.

The picture below shows the Sponsor Form/Registration Form used on Sunday May 4th 1997.
