Scalextric Power Supply

This little item, was probably responsible for more hums than anything else in the world.

Oh come on! Admit it...and don't say "Oh I never tried one!!"

Those of us too tight to part with the money for a proper power supply would often use our Scalextric Power Supply, and wonder why we were told there was a loud humming noise with our modulation.

Techy types amongst us, would fit a capacitor across the terminals, whereas those less electronically minded, would just ignore the comments, or tell the other operator that the noise was at their end!!
.
Once we saved up enough money for a real power supply designed for CB use, the noise would vanish forever, and the nice audio reports came flooding in!!

I admit, I have done this as well, but only for recieving signals.

On TX I couldn't put a signal to the end of the street.
