Tail End Charlie-Joe

Tail End Charlie was married to Jersey Lily-Marion and lived in Wroughton when I knew him, and I think he was a gunner at the back of an aircraft during the War if I am not mistaken.

A member of the Tango Golf DX Group, Joe would often be heard talking all around the country from his favourite spot on Hackpen Hill.

I remember when my mother took me up to Hackpen Hill once, I saw Joe with a 5/8 wave silver rod on his silver car! He showed it to me, and there was a special attachment fitted on the rear of the car to take the bracket of the Silver Rod so he could talk further.
