Twin Loaded Modulator

Picture courtesy of Jam Man-Gawain from Swindon

The twin loaded Modulator from Les Wallen Manufacturing, was a superb mobile antenna if you had a strong enough magmount or gutter mount to hold it on the car whilst you were driving!

Very eye catching antenna, that really drew attention to yourself in a public place, and with performance similar to the full quarter wave antenna, this antenna could really handle the power applied to it!

This photograph was taken by Gawain on top of a well known local DX spot-Hackpen Hill.

This aerial is actually named the 'big twin' by modulator.
with three varients of the standard modulator, base, and ceter loaded and then this 'big twin', les wallen also made minature version of the modulators call the 'T' bolts, base, center and two loaded, easily mistaken as taxi aerials..!!

I still have a Modulator 2 in mint condition that I regularly use for static mobile use. It is a great antenna, but I wouldn't trust my magmount to hold it.

I can supply pictures if anyone wants to give the modulator 2 its own section. :-)
