a great but very limited radio..
covered 26.965 to 27.855 (low and mid bands ) then 28.315 to 28.755 the SSB part of 10mtrs band,AM and SSB, primarily aimed at the american amateur and CB market, boasted a frequency display (not counter) but was channelised and only in 5Kc ending, so no zero's or splits available, but even then a great rig, also available under different names, colonal FR-360 and others,
I remember this Radio being around in the 80's They sounded okay and performed very well if they were left unmodified. there were a few knocking about on the second hand market that had poor modifacations done to them and sounded pretty poor.
I had one of these for a while in the late 70's or early 80's. Once had a short DX (SSB) from SE UK to Brazil with a DX27 mobile twig mounted on a biscuit tin. Long enough to receive a QSL card. As stated, illegal in UK, but a good rig. Bits of expensive paper seldom have any real effect do they? ;o)
