Worldsound PT40

This was my very first "Legal" radio. It is a Worldsound PT40 FM radio, and had 40 FM channels.
.
I had a mobile magnetic antenna stuck to a 45 gallon oil drum outside the window of a downstairs room. I had no idea what the VSWR was [I'd never heard of it then!]
.
This particular rig was notorious for the sort of fart noise it produced when you first keyed up, not just once, but on every over!!
.
I cured the "Buzzing sound" which was ever present on my transmissions, by running it from a 12 Volt car battery, instead of my Hornby train set power supply!!
.
I remember speaking with people in our village: "Talkdown", "Queen Bee", "Slim Jim", "Bald Eagle", "Thunderbird", "Custom Car Kid", "Venus Fly Trap", and "The Hooded Claw" to mention a few!
.
I also spoke to people in "Yogurt City", "Red Lion", "Ledger Man", "Sweet Violet", Dogend Dick", "Lamb Chop" and others, courtesy of this magic box of electronics!!
.
Oh what happy memories.....
